During my two winter stays on the Greek island of Crete, I learned to love Greek food. Yet, I never learned to like the coffee. The small tavernas usual opened early in the morning, they would serve coffee and pies. Because of the small breakfast the lunch served was usual big; soup, potatoes, veggies and something roasted. Afternoon snacks would be Tzaziki and roasted veggies. Dinner would be like the lunch with a dessert, like yoghurt and fruit.
